Manufacturing Growth Programme Funding background

Manufacturing Growth Programme (MGP)

The Manufacturing Growth Programme is the UKs largest and leading business support programme making improvements to Manufacturing SMEs. Since October 2016, the programme has supported more than 2,000 SME manufacturers to grow and create more than 3,200 new jobs through £10.5m from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). From April 2019, an additional £11.8m ERDF will be provided to the programme to deliver business growth support across 16 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) regions. As a result, MGP will deliver a further 2,500 improvement projects and create an additional 2,500 new jobs whilst supporting businesses to create new products, open new markets, become more competitive, and ultimately increasing productivity. 

 

Eligibility

  • Be situated in and trading from West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber, parts of the East Midlands and South East.
  • Employ Fewer than 250 Full time Employees
  • Turnover of less than €50 million or a balance sheet of less than €43 million
  • Defined as: "A business that engages in any economic activity directly related to a product or production process they have researched, designed or produced, or otherwise hold core intellectual property in".
  • Be able to demonstrate an intention to grow and improve

Funding

  • support revenue projects between £2K and £10K and apply 33.4% towards the project cost.
 

Projects

Any project that delivers a carbon saving can be considered, typical projects include:

  • increased turnover
  • increased jobs
  • introduction of new products/services/processes.
