Coventry and Warwickshire Green Business Programme

The Coventry and Warwickshire Green Business Programme has now been extended to June 2023 and an additional £1.25m of funding for small to medium-sized businesses is available for the implementation of energy efficiency measures. The Coventry and Warwickshire Green Business Programme is partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund and is being delivered by Coventry City Council, Coventry University, and Coventry University Enterprises Ltd. 

 

Eligibility

  • Operate in Coventry & Warwickshire
  • Employ Fewer than 250 Employees
  • Turnover of less than €50 million
  • Not have received more than 200,000 euros of public aid over a three-year period
  • Have at least 50% of sales through business to business
  • Not be part of a franchise
 

Funding

  1. Energy Efficiency Grants - 40% of the cost of energy or resource saving projects with grant funding between £1,000 and £50,000 dependent on the amount of carbon tonnes saved
  2. Low Carbon Innovation Grants - between £1,000 and £50,000 to fund up to 40% of development related capital costs, including technologies
  3. Low Carbon Revenue Grants - up to £6,000 to cover up to 40% of revenue costs
 

Projects

Any project that delivers a carbon saving can be considered, typical projects include:

1. Energy Efficiency Grants
  • Lighting – LED, controls, sensors
  • Heating - replacement boilers/burners, upgrades - electric to gas, zone control, heat recovery, oil to gas, thermal stores,
  • Compressors
  • Ventilation – fans, distribution
  • Refrigeration
  • Recycling and waste - compactors, balers and crushers
2. Low Carbon Innovation Grants
  • A Manufacturing company to produce components for the nuclear energy or offshore wind
  • A waste processing company to recycle or reprocess materials from waste or to generate energy from biomass
  • A doors and windows manufacturing firm to produce highly energy efficient versions
3. Low Carbon Revenue Grants
  • Route to market investigations
  • Market research
  • Technology licensing
  • Prototype development
  • Usability testing
  • Manufacturing consultancy
  • Software (Licensing)
  • Other consultancy services
  • Intellectual Property protection and certifications
